"24" landet im Kino

Kürzlich wurde bekannt, dass ein Kinofilm zur Serie "24" vorbereitet wird.

Zunächst soll der Film jedoch nicht wie die Serie in Realzeit spielen. Laut Produzent Jon Cassar, ändert sich das erst nachdem im Film etwas "Großes passiert" ist.

Weiter erzählt er, dass der Kinofilm jedoch noch zwei Jahre auf sich warten lassen wird und er zudem von den Ereignissen der Serie abhängt.

Kiefer Sutherland on the 24 Movie
A 2 hour representation of a 24 hour day

Crave Online talked to Kiefer Surtherland about the upcoming season and the movie that is in development. Here's a clip:

It's something that we really, really want to make. The real key difference would be that the 24 hour film would be a 2 hour representation of a 24 hour day. It would be the first thing that we didn't do in real time. Mainly, you have to understand, we're making two episodes every three weeks. We would have three months to make a two hour [movie]. Just to have that kind of time to really allow our cinematographer and our director and the writers to focus on such a finite thing. And actually be able to do a film that really has a conclusion, I think would be really exciting not only for us to make but I think for an audience as well. But the thing that I'm most excited about that is that we're going to make it within the context of still running the show.

24 Feature Film Moving Forward

20th Century Fox's film and TV studios are teaming to finally bring hit television series "24" to the big screen, reports Variety. Billy Ray (State of Play, Flightplan) will write the script for the feature.

Ray's pitch, which takes Jack Bauer to Europe, was a hit with Fox executives and producers of the TV series, reports Variety.

The trade adds that the script came through "24" star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland, who is reportedly eager to turn the series into a feature franchise.

Variety cautions that a "24" feature is still very much in the preliminary stages and there are a number of factors influencing how quickly it moves ahead, including the fate of the TV show.

Fox hasn't decided whether to order a ninth season of the show. If Fox decides to pass for another season, Fox TV could shop the show to other networks, which would put the movie on the backburner.

Kiefer talks 24 movie!
It won't be set in America, and there may be sequels...

24 star Kiefer Sutherland today exclusively told Total Film that the TV show’s conclusion at the end of series 8 has indeed paved the way for the long-awaited 24 movies. (Yes, plural).

According to Kiefer, the first film is already scripted and will take place outside of America.

Although he was understandably tight-lipped on the plot details, Kiefer confirmed that the first film is already scripted and is "not going to take place in America".

He also admitted there will be major structural changes to the TV series.

“The film will be a two-hour representation of a 24-hour day,” he said, “so all of a sudden, the restrictions of the real-time aspect are lifted. Which is huge.

“To put it in context, in the series, every crisis had to come to us, because we couldn’t move. Who wants to see Jack Bauer sit on a plane for four hours?

“But in the format of the film, it will be very feasible to go from Eastern Europe to London in the space of 24 hours, so all of a sudden there is so much more latitude. The skies have opened up!”

Fox nixes movie script

Fans of Jack Bauer who were hoping to get a big screen fix of their favorite anti-hero may be in for a long wait: EW has learned exclusively that 20th Century Fox has nixed a script from Billy Ray (State of Play) that would have continued the storyline of the rogue CTU agent from the long-running drama 24.

“As far as I know, it is in suspended animation,” Howard Gordon, the longtime executive producer of 24 who is also expected to produce the big screen version, told EW exclusively. ”There is talk about re-approaching it. I understand (director/producer) Tony Scott is meeting with Kiefer to talk about ideas. People are still talking about it.”

When 24 ended its eight-year run on Fox in May, Sutherland told EW the series finale would tee up the movie. “We wanted to create a definitive end for Jack Bauer,” the actor explained. “Since we do have the intention to make the feature film, it would lead into that and certainly set that up. Something we’ve dealt with in the series is how the crisis always has to come to us because we don’t have time to move anywhere in a real time world. In a two-hour (movie) representation of the 24 world, planes, trains, and automobiles all of a sudden become a factor because you are not required to go scene by scene in real time. That’s something I can say I am very excited about.”

Gordon is certainly keeping busy while Fox decides Jack Bauer’s next play: Besides having two dramas in development at Showtime and Fox, he’s busy promoting his thriller novel Gideon’s War. (And how’s this for staying loyal to the CTU family: Carlos Bernard, aka Tony Almeida, is reportedly narrating the audiobook version. For Gordon book signing details, click here). But Gordon remains optimistic that Jack’s days are not over.

“I was disapppointed [Fox] passed on the script but I’m certainly hopeful that the movie will get made at some point,” he said. “Anecdotally, I’ve heard from people who are really missing the show and I do think there is more life in Jack Bauer.”

"Yes, There Will be a 24 Movie"

Just a month ago, Reuters reported that a movie based on the popular Fox television show "24" wasn't going forward as stated by Kiefer Sutherland in interviews with a representative of 20th Century Fox saying that the project had been shelved based on the script they received last year. Even so, actor Kiefer Sutherland still seems confident that a movie might happen, which makes us think maybe they'll try to do it at another studio?

On ABC's "Good Morning America" where Sutherland was promoting his appearance on Broadway in "That Championship Season," he was asked directly by the show's co-host George Stephanopoulos whether there will be a movie, and Sutherland's response was a flat-out:

"Yes, there will be a 24 movie."

Later on Live with Regis and Kelly, Sutherland expressed that he still feels they haven't finished and it's "still a presence" in his life. When asked by the co-hosts of that show the same question, he added to his earlier comment,

"We hopefully will start next January and I think Tony Scott is one of the directors that has expressed great interest in doing it and he would be fantastic, so I'm very excited about that."

Maybe Sutherland is being overly optimistic, similar to David Duchovny, who for years was asked by reporters about a second "X-Files" movie. That eventually did happen (for better or worse) as did Joss Whedon's Serenity, a movie spin-off from his cancelled Fox show "Firefly" that was released by Universal. Also, progress is moving forward on an Arrested Development movie based on Mitch Hurwitz's popular star-studded show (also cancelled by Fox) which Universal was going to produce before Fox Searchlight became involved.

Meanwhile, Sutherland is committed to starring in "That Championship Season" on Broadway, which should keep him busy, while giving the producers of the show time to keep working on a stronger script or to possibly find another studio if the only option is to make a movie without 20th Century Fox.

Spring Start Targeted for the 24 Movie

Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox and Imagine Entertainment are eyeing a spring 2012 start for the 24 movie starring Kiefer Sutherland. The Wolverine screenwriter Mark Bomback is expected to turn in the latest draft of the script by year's end, says the site. Billy Ray wrote the first draft, which took Jack Bauer to Europe. Imagine and the studio have five directors in mind and everything is expected to be put into place early next year. Sutherland will be available to start shooting in April.

Kiefer Sutherland Reveals 24 Movie Details

It was nearly a year ago that star Kiefer Sutherland confirmed plans to bring the television series 24 to the big screen. Today, TV Line has an update from Sutherland that includes a tentative start date and some plot details.

Planning to shoot in late April or early May, the 24 film will continue directly from the series' finale, jumping forward in time by about six months. Like the show, the film will be set over a 24 hour period but (of course) will not actually play out in real time.

Written by Mark Bomback and Billy Ray, 24 does not yet have an announced director and no one outside of Sutherland has been confirmed to be returning. Expect that to change in the very near future and check back for details as soon as they become available.

Has The Clock Stopped Ticking On ’24′ Movie?

I’m hearing that fans of the Fox series 24 are going to have to continue waiting for the long-awaited 24 feature film. 20th Century Fox isn’t going forward with the film this year. It hadn’t been greenlit, but it was scheduled to get going in late March, with Kiefer Sutherland jumping into Jack Bauer mode when his new series Touch goes on hiatus in April. The studio was zeroing in on a director — Antoine Fuqua was the most recent conversation I’d heard of — when the decision was made this week to not go forward, at least this year.

There are rumors this came down to budget and that Sutherland is upset because he was sparked up to resume his role as the rough-and-tumble government operative, who over eight seasons prevented numerous apocalyptic terror attacks. Studio insiders tell me Fox wasn’t convinced it had enough time to complete the film before Sutherland has to go back to work on Touch‘s second season, and didn’t want to rush and neither did Sutherland. The picture is being produced by Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Sutherland and they have a script written by Billy Ray, and polished by Mark Bomback. It’s ready to go.

Meine Idee zum Soundtrack des kommenden 24 Kinofilms

Hallo Leute!

Schreibt bitte eure Meinungen!

Wünschenswert = Ja
Realitätsnah = Nein
